Lipman Early Learning & Research Center, Campus Elementary School, University Middle and the future University High School, as well as our partnerships with Porter-Leath and the Harwood Center.
The mission of University Schools is to provide the children of our community with educational experiences that enhance their development from birth to graduation and promote dynamic research, collaborative partnerships and innovative practices.

Infant Care - Preschool
Early Learning: 2-5 years old
A nurturing learning environment
Here children engage in creative questioning and problem-solving. They learn to understand and share with each other. They form interpersonal communication skills. And they discover and expand their world through a truly interactive environment.
The University of Memphis and Porter-Leath are partnering to launch a new, innovative Early Childhood Academy located alongside the Orange Mound neighborhood’s RedZone Ministries. More information about applications and the admissions process will be available Fall 2021.
Early Learning: 18 months through 6 years with developmental delays and autism
Optimizing Learning Potential
Our goal is two-fold: we strive to optimize the learning potential of each child that comes through our doors as well as work diligently to make sure each child is fully known and fully loved. The classroom schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m., with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services offered from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Promoting excellence in teaching and enthusiasm for learning
Through integration of research into an innovative curriculum, the school gives its best to aspiring teachers and to the urban community it serves. A diverse school population allows for valuable relationships and collaborations -- educational, cultural, social and personal -- among the stakeholders who are involved. Teachers, students and parents working together can maximize outcomes to the benefit of all involved.
As an extension of the University of Memphis, University Middle is a school where education starts in classrooms, but ultimately ends up in the world. It is a school that values and practices hands-on learning. A school that builds its curriculum around the interests of the students who walk its halls. A school that isn’t just different; it’s fun!
Preparing the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and change agents
University High School prepares a diverse set of students with the knowledge, skills and mindsets needed to thrive in the 21st century global community through innovative practices, collaborative partnerships and accessing opportunities that lead to success in college and in life.
Schools that aren't just different... they're fun!
Schools where students don’t just see people of different races, genders and religions – they work with them, learn from them and come to understand them. Schools where education starts in classrooms, but ultimately ends up in the world.
